The Nasdaq Index closes the session lower at -1.83%

At market close, the flagship index of the US technology exchange is down -1.83% to 15254.05 points.

The trading session was not very active with a trading volume of 182.83 billion dollars. 872.47 million shares changed hands. 17 stocks finished in the green and 82 were down.

The best performance of the day was attributed to Vertex Pharmaceuticals with 9.66% to 205 dollars. In second place on the podium, NetEase closed the session at 111.81 dollars, up 3.79%, followed by Applied Materials at 151.67 dollars (3.04%).

At the bottom of the pack is Moderna. The share ends the trading session down -11.87% to 310.61 dollars. Okta and Splunk are also lagging behind.

Several stocks (Adobe, American Electric Power, Analog Devices, Apple, Applied Materials, ASML Holding, Atlassian, Autodesk, Automatic Data Processing, Booking Holdings, Broadcom, CDW/DE, Copart, Costco Wholesale, Crowdstrike Holdings, Dexcom, eBay, Fox, Illumina, Incyte, Intuit, KLA, Kraft Heinz, Lam Research, Marriott International, Marvell Technology, Match Group, MercadoLibre, Microchip Technology, Micron Technology, Microsoft, Moderna, Okta, Paychex, PepsiCo, Pinduoduo, Seagen, Splunk, Synopsys, Texas Instruments, Trip.com, Verisk Analytics, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Workday et Zoom) recorded large trading volumes, one-third higher than their daily average.
