The Nasdaq Index ends the session very strongly down at -2.6%
At market close, the flagship index of the US technology exchange is down -2.6% to 14506.9 points.
The trading session was not very active with a trading volume of 159.58 billion dollars. 880.01 million shares changed hands. 6 stocks finished in the green and 94 were down.
The best performance of the day was attributed to Activision Blizzard with 25.88% to 82.31 dollars. In second place on the podium, Electronic Arts closed the session at 133.91 dollars, up 2.66%, followed by Pinduoduo at 61.53 dollars (1.85%).
At the bottom of the pack is Moderna. The stock ends the trading session down -8.85% to 186.61 dollars. Applied Materials and KLA are also lagging behind.
Several stocks (Activision Blizzard, Align Technology, ANSYS, Applied Materials, Cadence Design Systems, Costco Wholesale, CSX, Dollar Tree, Electronic Arts, Exelon, Fastenal, IDEXX Laboratories, Intuitive Surgical, Keurig Dr Pepper, Lam Research, Match Group, Microchip Technology, Microsoft, Monster Beverage, Netflix, Peloton Interactive, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Ross Stores, Seagen, Starbucks, Texas Instruments et Verisk Analytics) recorded large trading volumes, one-third higher than their daily average.
